Stephanie - Veterinarian
My name is Stephanie.
From an early age I knew that my life would revolve around animals and the passion to help them. As a child, I rescued birds and devoured books on anatomy and biology in the library, everything to make my dream come true.
After a draw at the age of 17, I left for Antwerp, eventually completing my studies in Ghent in 2011. After a period of wild adventures in South Africa, my professional journey began in clinics in Amsterdam, Aerdenhout and Bennebroek. After 10 years as an employee, I decided to continue as an independent veterinarian.
In my search for variety and challenge, I ended up at Duivendrecht Veterinary Clinic for a pregnancy observation, and I actually never left!
My daily genomes are huge divers; ranging from operations, dental treatments, laboratory work, to ultrasounds and x-rays, and of course consultations with animal owners. The versatility keeps me on my toes, but it also makes the job difficult. In addition to primary veterinary medicine, I have put extra emphasis onultrasound, dentistry, dermatology and laparoscopy in recent years.
The biggest challenge for me lies in wanting to continue learning, but also in making the correct diagnosis and treating animals whose financial options are limited. In our clinic we always try to think along and find solutions that suit the situation.
What I like most about my work is the constant variety and the opportunity to continue to develop and specialize myself. Contact with animal owners and colleagues is invaluable to me. No animal or owner is the same, and I enjoy finding the right solutions together.
Collaboration with my team is crucial to me. At Dierenkliniek Duivendrecht we believe that we work in the same way as a team. We are transparent about costs, give love and personal attention to every patient and owner, and we continuously learn from each other. Everyone has their own specialties, so we complement each other perfectly. And let’s not forget, a healthy dose of humor and fun are essential for a well-functioning clinic!
