Linda – PARAVETERINAIREN
My name is Linda
I live with my family, two dogs and three cats in Landsmeer. I have loved animals ever since I was a child. I was often found at the petting zoo, where I enjoyed helping to care for the animals. I was also regularly found at my grandmother’s house, who took care of stray cats.
Despite different school advice, my heart was always with the Agriculture and Horticulture School because of my passion for animals and plants. Fortunately, my parents supported my choice. After internships at a pet shop and a florist, I ended up at my third internship: a veterinary clinic in Amsterdam West. There I knew: this is what I want! Immediately after obtaining my diploma, I was able to start working as an assistant. During my work I followed and completed my training as a paraveterinary.
In all those years in this profession I have experienced many special moments. From a cat that gave birth to 3 kittens on the consulting room table to a caesarean section on a dog that gave birth to no fewer than 11 puppies. I also remember a dumped hamster with a huge bump on his body, which we operated on to give him a second chance. He then lived with me for over a year.
I was recently added to the fantastic team at Dierenkliniek Duivendrecht. My tasks here mainly include counter work, such as customer reception, telephony, email handling and dispensing medication. I also help in the operating room, perform lab work and assist in the consultation room.
What makes this clinic so special is the excellent equipment with modern equipment and the great, expert team with a passion for animals. All this enables us to provide the best care to the animals and their owners!
